Geotextile is a single water-permeable material made from polymer as raw material, through non-woven process, weaving process, weaving process and wet-laid process. It is widely used in road, railway, water conservancy and water transport. Infrastructure, airport, environmental protection and other infrastructure construction, in the project to play the role of filtration, drainage, protection, isolation and crack prevention. Geotextiles can be divided into drainage anti-filter geotextiles, wrapped geotextiles, isolated geotextiles and reinforced geotextiles according to different functions.

Geotextiles are classified into woven geotextiles (with spinning), non-woven geotextiles (non-woven), composite geotextiles, and wet-laid geotextiles according to different manufacturing methods. Construction techniques and installation of filament or short geotextiles are usually done by lap joints, stitching and welding. The width of the stitching and welding is generally 0.1 m or more, and the overlap width is generally 0.2 M or more. Geotextiles that may be exposed for a long time should be welded or stitched. Stitching of geotextiles: All stitching should be done continuously (for example, point stitching is not allowed). 


Geotextiles must overlap by 150mm less before overlapping. The small needle is at least 25 mm from the selvedge (the exposed edge of the material). The sewed geotextile seams include a row and a chain lock chain stitching method. The thread used for stitching should be a resin material with a small tension of more than 60 N and have chemical and UV resistance comparable to or exceeded that of geotextiles. Any "leakage needle" on the sewed geotextile should be re-stitched in the affected area. Take appropriate measures to prevent soil, particulate matter or foreign matter from entering the geotextile after installation. The lap joint of the cloth can be divided into natural lap joint, seam joint or welding according to the terrain and the function of use.
