Geogrid

Geogrid is a key type of geosynthetic material with distinctive performance advantages compared to other geosynthetics. It is widely used to reinforce soil structures and enhance the overall strength of composite engineering systems.

Geogrids are generally classified into four types: plastic geogrids, steel–plastic geogrids, fiberglass geogrids, and warp-knitted polyester geogrids. Geofantex focuses on the production of three main categories—plastic geogrids, fiberglass geogrids, and warp-knitted polyester geogrids. These products feature a two-dimensional or three-dimensional grid structure with a defined height, manufactured from high-polymer materials such as polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride through thermoplastic processing or molding techniques. When applied in civil engineering projects, these grid structures are commonly referred to as geogrids.

The Main Function of Geogrid

Soil reinforcement

Increase bearing capacity

Improve slope stability

Enhance retaining structure performance

Extend service life of projects

Geogrid improves the mechanical properties of soil by forming an interlocking structure with aggregates, significantly increasing overall strength and stability.

By restricting lateral soil movement, geogrid enhances load distribution and allows the foundation or base layer to withstand higher loads.

When used in slopes and embankments, geogrid reinforces the soil mass and increases resistance to sliding and erosion.

Geogrid provides tensile strength in reinforced soil walls and retaining walls, improving structural integrity and long-term safety.

Through effective reinforcement and stress distribution, geogrid minimizes damage and maintenance needs, extending the lifespan of civil engineering works.

Control deformation and settlement

Geogrid reduces vertical and horizontal deformation, helping to prevent uneven settlement and structural cracking.
