Primarily used for basal reinforcement, the geogrid absorbs lateral forces exerted on the subgrade by traffic loading. These forces are transferred to the geogrid through the interlocking action of granular aggregates within the geogrid’s apertures and the frictional resistance between the geogrid and the sub-base.
